Palazzo Mainardi

Home of a historic noble family

Address
via Mainardi 4

Still magnificent in spite of the many alterations over the centuries, this Palazzo stands on the site where the Mainardi family once built their homes, reflecting the extent of the clan’s influence and authority in Medieval Bertinoro.

Chief among them were Arrigo Mainardi, bitterly lamented by Guido del Duca in Canto XIV of Purgatory, and Ricciardo, protagonist of one of the tales in the Decameron.

On its facade, you can still notice the coat of arms of the family, composed by the three hands.
