The Porta dei Tre Santi, the historic gateway to Bertinoro, displays different architectural features on its downhill and uphill sides. On the downhill side, built of stone and brick using an uncertain construction technique, there is a square-shaped doorway and, at the center, a pointed arch. Above it opens a small window, while the façade is ավարտed by a wooden cornice. The roof, with two slopes, is covered with curved terracotta tiles. Inside, the lowered barrel vault has been recently rebuilt, and on the left there is a niche containing a sacred image.

On the uphill side, the gate features a lowered arch, also recently rebuilt. Above it is a window with a metal flower box, belonging to a residence that has a large terrace. At the rear, the structure is almost entirely of stone, with very small windows fitted with iron grilles and an entrance to the basement level, bearing witness to the city’s ancient urban fabric.
