“La Risonanza Summer Festival”arrives in Bertinoro

Tuesday, August 11, and Friday, August 14, the enchanting Pieve di San Donato in Polenta will host two concerts as part of the La Risonanza Summer Festival, the early music festival directed by Fabio Bonizzoni, one of the world’s leading interpreters of Baroque and early music repertoire.

As part of a festival taking place from August 10 to 14, 2026, with performances also in Forlimpopoli, Terra del Sole, and Meldola, the two Bertinoro concerts aim to celebrate one of the area’s most significant historical and cultural landmarks, offering audiences an experience that brings together music, history, and architecture.

Both events will be preceded by a brief and engaging talk on the history of Polenta and the figures associated with it, presented by Marino Morellini in collaboration with the Accademia dei Benigni and the Associazione Amici di Polenta.

The first event will take place on Tuesday, 11 August at 9:00 pm with “Not Only Bach”, a programme pairing works by Johann Sebastian Bach with masterpieces by other leading composers of the Baroque period. Performing are violinist Ryo Terakado, one of the foremost specialists in historically informed performance practice, and harpsichordist Fabio Bonizzoni. The introductory historical talk will focus on the Da Polenta lordship between the 11th and 16th centuries.

The second concert is scheduled for Friday, 14 August, also at 9:00 pm, with “London Season – Trio Sonatas in London between 1730 and 1750”, performed by Ensemble La Primavera de La Risonanza. This programme takes audiences on a journey through eighteenth-century London’s vibrant musical life, exploring the Trio Sonata repertoire. The performers are Gabriele Cervia and Lea Vera (violins), Giulia Gillio Gianetta (cello), and Gioele Cantalovo (harpsichord). Marino Morellini’s introductory talk will explore the distinguished figures who have visited Polenta from the eighteenth century to the present day.

Tickets are available in advance through the Vivaticket booking network or via www.larisonanza.it. Subject to availability, tickets may also be purchased at the venue on the evening of each performance.
