The 2026 edition of the White Night in Bertinoro will feature Marina Rei as the main artist, performing a free concert in Piazza della Libertà.
Daughter of musician parents (a violinist mother and a drummer father), Marina Restuccia—known artistically as Marina Rei—has always been surrounded by a wide range of musical influences.
In 1994, after years of live performances and percussion studies, she released her first major single (“Sola”, April 1995) and in 1996 took part in the Sanremo Festival for the first time with “Al di là di questi anni,” winning the Critics’ Award. In the same year she released her debut Italian-language album, Marina Rei.
With her second album Donna (1997), she returned to Sanremo in 1997 with “Dentro me,” followed by a reinterpretation of The Real Thing’s “You to me are everything,” later titled “Primavera.”
Early signs of a strong desire for change and a search for greater serenity emerged in Anime Belle (1998), especially in the song “Un inverno da baciare”—her third Sanremo participation—and fully developed in Inaspettatamente (2000), her first album entirely written by the artist. In 2002 she released L’incantevole Abitudine.
In 2005 she released the independent album Colpisci, featuring “Fammi entrare,” which brought her back to Sanremo.
On May 8, 2009 she released Musa, a highly feminine album entirely written and produced by Marina herself.
On May 15, 2012 the single “E mi parli di te” was released, anticipating the album La conseguenza naturale dell’errore.
On September 30, 2014 her tenth album Pareidolia was released, preceded by the single “Lasciarsi Andare.”
After years of touring in Italy and Europe, in 2020 she released a new album of original songs, preceded by the single “Per essere felici.”
From November 2021 to January 2022 she joined Carmen Consoli’s tour “Volevo fare la rockstar” as a drummer. On April 28, 2022 she published her first novel Un giorno nuovo and wrote the foreword to Ore Cutanee by Duilio Scalici.
On May 6, 2022 she continued her collaboration with Carmen Consoli, releasing “Un momento di felicità,” and later embarked on a duo rock tour together.
In 2023 she released Donna che parla in fretta Live, recorded at the Cavea of the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone in Rome in 2020 for her 25-year career celebration.
On March 21, 2025 she released “Domenica dicembre,” followed on May 9 by “Noi che sappiamo perdonarci,” both anticipating the album Niente amore, released on May 16, 2025.
