On the occasion of the centenary celebrations of the Festival of Hospitality, on Sunday, July 26, the Municipality of Bertinoro is pleased to host CCN/Aterballetto in "MicroDances".

With "MicroDances", CCN/Aterballetto transforms dance into a living museum. Just a few centimeters away from the dancers, the boundary between stage and reality disappears: short performances in historic locations create an intimate and vibrant emotion. A shared breath, where each performance becomes part of us.

Founded around the historic Aterballetto company, established in 1977 and later becoming the National Dance Foundation in 2003 (with the Emilia-Romagna Region and the Municipality of Reggio Emilia as founding members), CCN/Aterballetto became Italy’s first National Choreographic Center in 2022, officially recognized by the Ministry of Culture.

It is a place of creativity, hospitality, and all-round planning centered on contemporary dance and its connection with other art forms. Located in northern Italy, in Reggio Emilia, the National Choreographic Center / Aterballetto is headquartered in the Fonderia, an early 20th-century industrial space once used for metal casting, now redeveloped into a creative hub equipped with five large multipurpose studios, tailoring rooms, meeting rooms, and offices.

Today, the Aterballetto company consists of sixteen dancers engaged for full seasons, working mainly on new productions by internationally renowned choreographers and on revivals of a selected authorial repertoire.

CCN/Aterballetto is also committed to innovative artistic development and a plurality of styles. Through projects involving bodies that do not conform to norms of age, gender, or ability, the National Choreographic Center paves the way for an accessible and refined form of dance that raises questions and explores the field of new digital technologies.

Its productions are appreciated in the most important theaters and festivals in Italy and around the world.

In promoting dance culture, CCN/Aterballetto fosters connections between choreographic art and other areas of contemporary society, viewing dance as an opportunity for personal and social growth and offering audiences unique experiences.
