Pagadebit

Pagadebit owes its survival above all to the local winemakers; producers have been able to add the geographical specification “Bertinoro” to their labels since 1963.

Pagadebit is a white grape variety which owes its name (which means “debt-payer”) to its fruit’s ability to withstand even the worst conditions and always produce at least some wine in really bad years, repaying the winemaker the “debt” due to him for all the work done in the vineyard throughout the year.

It is a delicate pale yellow in colour, with greenish or slightly golden tints, a fruit, slightly flowery/vegetable bouquet, excellent intensity and a pleasantly lingering flavour. The taste is decidedly dry and it is fresh without being aggressive.
