Monumento al Vignaiuolo - Winemaker Monument

Monumento al Vino - Wine Monument

Address
Largo Cairoli

The hills around Bertinoro are well known as ideal for grape growing, and the town’s people have been winemakers for many generations.

The bronze monument, by sculptor Mario Bertozzi of Forlimpopoli, was erected in largo Cairoli and inaugurated on 5 September, 1976, the day of the Hospitality Festival, to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the re-erection of the Pillar of Rings.

Every year, during the Hospitality Festival, the New Winemaker ceremony takes place at the foot of the monument, with the consignment of a certificate of honour to a winemaker who has entered or made a fresh start in the profession during the last year.
