Did you know that Albana di Romagna was the first Italian white wine which obtained DOCG certification in 1987? And that the name of the town, according to an ancient legend, seems to be connected to Galla Placidia, daughter of the emperor Theodosius? While passing through the region, she was offered this wine in a humble terracotta cup. As she sipped it she declared : “Oh, you are so delicious that you should be drunk in gold!” (Berti in oro means drink you in gold).
This is why Bertinoro is willing to honour its precious golden nectar through a a special event in its main square where you will have the chance to taste the best Albana wines of this area and vote for your favourite one!
Here you will also find nice live music and a food stand with some of our typical products.
Do not miss it!
